Foreign documents proving that the <strong>chain of the citizenship<\/strong> was not broken in subsequent generations, and 3. Documents that prove\/establish the<strong> family line<\/strong>.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #8f3b11;\">1. The crucial issue in each administrative procedure for the confirmation of citizenship is relevant <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">POLISH<\/span> DOCUMENTS<\/strong>&nbsp;through which it is possible to prove your&nbsp;ancestors were Polish citizens. According to the applicable Polish law, an&nbsp;application not supported by any of the relevant Polish documents will not be even approved for processing. Therefore, in the event that a person applying for the confirmation of citizenship does not have Polish documents, it is necessary to start to search for them in archives in Poland, Germany, Belarus, Ukraine, or Lithuania.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #8f3b11;\">The most important documents are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #8f3b11;\">Proof of residence, residence registration cards<\/span><\/li>\n<li>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #8f3b11;\"><strong>Extracts from Registers of Permanent Residents (also from before 1918)<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4><strong><span style=\"color: #8f3b11;\">Electoral rolls to the Polish Parliament and local authorities<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #8f3b11;\">Military enlistments<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #8f3b11;\">Entries in real estate registers<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #8f3b11;\">Notarial deeds<\/span><\/li>\n<li>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #8f3b11;\"><strong>Polish civil acts: birth, marriage, and death certificates<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #8f3b11;\">Documents that prove the confirmation \/ recognition of Polish citizenship<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #8f3b11;\">Certificates of good standing \/ police clearance certificates<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #8f3b11;\">Documents that prove the course of military service and employment<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #8f3b11;\">Medical, school and other official certificates<\/span><\/li>\n<li>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #8f3b11;\"><strong><strong>Copies of Polish ID cards, passports, travel documents, military books, and other identity cards <\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #8f3b11;\">It is not easy to conduct searches for archival documents, particularly in territories that before WWII were Polish territories and now are part of Belarus or Ukraine. It has taken us many years to&nbsp;develop appropriate methods of searching for documents by establishing cooperation with various archives and institutions in Poland and abroad. Consequently, we are able to localize and obtain certified copies of relevant documents within 3 months from commencing archival searches.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">&#8212;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">2. It is necessary to prove that there was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">no loss<\/span> of Polish citizenship as a result of emigration and naturalization in another country. Relevant documents produced by the country in which the relevant ancestor lived and finally settled are:<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>naturalization acts (also of previous generations)<\/li>\n<li>documents proving whether&nbsp;ancestors acquired foreign citizenship<\/li>\n<li><strong>documents of military records until&nbsp;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">January 19, 1951<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>documents proving jobs held until&nbsp;that date<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">&#8212;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-align: justify;\">3. Usually, the most easily obtainable&nbsp;documents are those proving the family line from your Polish&nbsp;ancestors to you. These are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Birth and marriage\/divorce certificates<\/li>\n<li>Parents&#8217; birth and marriage\/divorce certificates<\/li>\n<li>Name change certificates<\/li>\n<li>Certified copy of your valid foreign passport<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It must again be clearly stressed that the most important part of the process is&nbsp;indeed <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Polish<\/span> documents<\/strong>&nbsp;that prove ancestral&nbsp;Polish citizenship.
